The Invention of Lying release date has moved to one week later!
Posted by Biba • No Comments »

The Invention of Lying release date has officially moved from September 25th to October 2nd — one week later.

A few films (most notably Scorsese’s Shutter Island) shifted around the 2009 schedule and WB felt October 2nd was now a weekend where we will hopefully fare better, have less competition for our “core demographic” (vomit) and stand out a bit more.

It’s all a crapshoot, anyhoo. There really is no science to any of this, just educated guess work. But horray for October 2nd! More time for the word to get around, I say.

Jennifer Garner, ABC Studios pact
Posted by Biba • No Comments »

“Alias” star Jennifer Garner has sealed a first-look production deal with ABC Studios.

Pact covers her Vandalia Films shingle, which is looking to get into the TV business. Garner runs Vandalia with Juliana Janes; the duo has a first-look pact with Warner Bros. on the feature side.

New arrangement reunites Garner with the Alphabet, where she starred for five seasons on “Alias” as Sydney Bristow.

The duo said they hope to bring feature writers to the TV side and also work with writers they had met during Garner’s stints on “Alias” and “Felicity.”

Garner and Janes said they’re looking toward developing female-driven material such as “Grey’s Anatomy.”

“(ABC Entertainment topper) Steve McPherson and I have a great relationship and have been talking about doing something together for some time now. It’s been over three years since the finale of ‘Alias,’ ” Garner said, adding that she was looking forward “to have the opportunity to get back into television wearing my producer hat.”

Film projects in the works at Vandalia (taken from the original name for Garner’s native West Virginia) include “Butter,” for Mandate Pictures; “Arranged,” with Mark Gordon and director Gary Winick; “Sabbatical” for Disney; and “Three Days in Europe,” along with Hugh Jackman and John Palermo.

The Invention of Lying Trailer – US Version!
Posted by Biba • 6 Comments »

Like I said, here is the US Version to the trailer for The Invention of Lying. You guys get to see both of them and tell us which one you prefer!

Also, here is what JJ Abrams said about The Invention of Lying:

Ricky Gervais proves, once again, that he is the master. Not only of comedy, but social commentary. ‘The Invention of Lying’ is as funny as it is biting, wholly original, and surprisingly moving. Is there such thing as an important comedy? Turns out there is, and this is it. If you’re still reading this, you should stop immediately and go see ‘The Invention of Lying!’

Rove Video!
Posted by Biba • 3 Comments »

Jennifer and Matthew did an interview for Rove, which is an Australia talk show! Even though Jen didn’t go to Australia, she did the interview via satellite. I was told Rove is a talk show, like David Letterman! The interview was really awesome, totally worth checking it out. Jen talks about Martha Stewart (The Dog), her daughters, what she would be if she wasn’t an actor, it’s really funny, especially the last minute. Oh yeah, this was another surprise! I hope you enjoy it!

Thanks to Kimmers for getting it for us!

New Line is putting together an all-star cast for its latest romantic comedy, “Valentine’s Day,” to be directed by Garry Marshall.

Julia Roberts, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Alba, Jessica Biel, Jennifer Garner, Shirley MacLaine, Bradley Cooper and Ashton Kutcher are in final negotiations to star in the movie, which has five slightly interconnecting stories playing out during a Valentine’s Day in Los Angeles.

– Kutcher is an owner of a flower shop who proposes to his girlfriend (Alba), only to realize he is in love with his close friend, played by Garner, who discovers her boyfriend is married.
